DECLARATION OF INTEREST

 

Councillor David Lewis Roberts wished it to be noted that he knew of the appellant 35 years ago but had not seen him or spoken to him for the past ten or twelve years.

ELECTION OF CHAIR

 

Councillor Peter Rogers was elected as Chair  for the purposes of the Appeals Hearing.

EXCLUSION OF THE PRESS AND PUBLIC

 

The following was adopted:-

 

“Under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, to exclude the press and public from the meeting during discussion on the appeal hearing on the grounds that it will involve the disclosure of exempt information as defined  in Schedule 12A of the said Act and in the attached Public Interest Test.”

APPEAL AGAINST DISMISSAL  -  EMPLOYEE NO.1091

 

The Appeal Panel, having carefully considered the information and evidence put forward verbally and in writing by both parties, and having also considered the mitigating circumstances put to the Appeal Panel, have come to the conclusion that action taken by the Disciplinary Panel was fair and reasonable

and the Appeal is therefore dismissed.

 

The decision was a majority decision and no further right of appeal is available within the Authority.
