To receive any declaration of interest by any Member or Officer in respect of any item of business.

Declarations of interest received from :-

 

Mr. Alwyn Rowlands declared an interest with regard to any discussion relating to the application by Canolfan Hamdden Biwmares a’r Cylch under Item 3 – Minutes of the Regeneration Committee.

 

Mr. T.V. Hughes declared an interest with regard to any discussion relating to the application by Cwmni Tref Llangefni under Item 3 – Minutes of the Regeneration Committee.

 

Mr. T.Ll. Hughes declared an interest with regard to any discussion relating to the application by Holyhead Town Council under Item 3 – Minutes of the Regeneration Committee.

Regeneration Committee

 

To submit, for confirmation and adoption where necessary, the minutes of the meeting held on 24 February, 2017.

Regeneration Committee

 

The minutes of the meeting held on 24 February, 2017 were confirmed and adopted as necessary.

 

The Treasurer said that the recommendation of the Regeneration Committee to support 12 grant applications required confirmation by the full Trust but the information remained confidential until the final decision of the Trust.

 

It was RESOLVED to exclude the press and public and to adopt the following:-

 

“Under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, to exclude the press and public from the meeting during discussion of the following item on the grounds that it may involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Schedule 12A of the said Act and in the attached Public Interest Test.”

 

The Treasurer reported that a total of 31 applications were received which totalled to over £1.6m.  The Regeneration Committee convened on 10 February, 2017 and 24 February, 2017 to discuss those applications. 

 

It was RESOLVED to approve the recommendations of the Regeneration Committee held on 24 February, 2017 as follows :-

·           It was noted that :-

 

9 applications were not approved and that the individual organisations had been informed;

8 applications had been referred to the Small Grants Committee, and

2 applications were judged to be ineligible.

5.

Governance Review of the Isle of Anglesey Charitable Trust

To receive a verbal update by the Secretary in relation to the above.

Minutes:

The Legal Service Manager said that Brown Jacobson LLP required minor details from Members of the Trust before submitting the application to register the CIO with the Charity Commission. 

 

It was RESOLVED that Members of the Charitable Trust will afford the necessary details required by Browne Jacobson LLP as noted above.

 

The Chair said that he was concerned that there will be only 2 Independent Trustees on the established Isle of Anglesey Charitable Association.  He noted that he was of the opinion that the Charitable Association should look into increasing the number of independent trustees in the future.
