Having worked in the construction industry, as a supervisor and a manager, for more than 30 years, before his retirement Mr Roberts was employed as an Accredited Tutor in the building department of a local training centre. In this role, Mr Roberts was involved in the induction of trainees to the training centre and was an approved C.I.T.B & City and Guilds Assessor.

 

He was awarded the Certificate of Education in 1993 and became a Member of the Institute of Training and Development in 1994.

 

Since his retirement, Mr Roberts served as a Magistrate on the Anglesey Bench and served his local community as a member of the Bryngwran Community Council since 1997 and, for the last 22 years, has been the Chair of the Community Council.

 

Mr Roberts was also a member of Anglesey Crime Prevention between 2008 and 2013 and is currently a community council member of Un Llais Cymru.

 

Mr Roberts was selected to be a community council representative on the Standards Committee, being formally appointed by the County Council in December 2017, following an election process involving all 40 town and community councils on the Island. He was appointed for a second term in 2022.
