ITEM TAKEN IN PRIVATE

LAND AT RHOSGOCH
The Treasurer reported that the Secretary of the
Charitable Trust has received an offer for the land at Rhosgoch
from Solicitors acting on behalf of Company 'A'. Following
the receipt of the offer, the Chairman of the Sub-Committee agreed
to calling of an urgent meeting to discuss the matter.
Following the advice of the Charities Commission, the
Sub-Committee should now appoint a qualified surveyor in accordance
with the regulations as set out in Section 36 of the Charities Act
1993, to advise on the offer and to state whether or not the offer
could be accepted and why.
He further noted that on 27 February, 2002 the Charitable
Trust resolved to earmark a maximum of £20,000 towards
possible fees in connection with the Trust's land.
The District Valuer would be able to act for the
Charitable Trust. Within the organisation, they have valuers
with capacity and expertise in the energy field. The hourly
rate normally quoted for local authority work is up to £130
per hour for senior valuation staff. This compares favourably
to private sector rates.
Following deliberations it wasRESOLVED:-
1.1
to appoint the District Valuer to advise the Isle of
Anglesey Charitable Trust in relation to the present offer for the
land at Rhosgoch.
1.2
that a meeting of this Sub-Committee be convened
following receipt of the response of the District Valuer to the
offer for the land.
