Declaration of interest received as follows :-

 

Mr Richard Griffiths declared a prejudicial interest as regards to Item 4 – Large Grants Applications 2019/20 – Caru Amlwch and did not take part during the voting thereon.

 

Mr Richard O Jones declared a prejudicial interest as regards to Item 4 – Large Grants Applications 2019/20 – Caru Amlwch and did not take part during the voting thereon.

 

Mr  J Arwel Roberts declared a personal interest as regards to Item 4 – Large Grants Applications 2019/20 – Morlo Nursery.

The minutes of the meeting held on 13 February, 2018 were confirmed.

To consider adopting the following :-

 

‘Under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, to exclude the press and public from the meeting during the discussion on the grounds that it may involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Schedule 12A of the said Act and in the attached Public Interest Test.’

It was RESOLVED :-

Large Grants Applications 2019/20

To submit a report by the Treasurer. 

Minutes:

Submitted – a report by the Treasurer in respect of the above.

 

The Treasurer reported that 29 applications received and initially considered by this Committee at its meeting held on 13 February, 2019.  The Committee resolved to shortlist 14 grant applications for more detailed assessment and to receive further information as regard to the applications, as was deemed necessary.  It was noted that the Investments and Contracts Committee at its meeting held on 6 November, 2018 resolved to recommend to the full Charitable Trust that £350k is made available for funding towards large grants in 2019.  The full Charitable Trust in its meeting held on 23 January, 2019 approved the recommendation. 

 

Detailed discussions took place with regard to the 14 short-listed applications and it was RESOLVED to recommend to the full Charitable Trust at it meeting to be held on 16 April, 2019 that:-

 

·           12 of the grant application that were short-listed be supported with 11 receiving the requested amount and 1 receiving a lesser amount than requested;

·           1 of the 14 short-listed applications was not successful;

·           1 of the 14 short-listed applications be forwarded to the full Trust for consideration for funding outside the annual large grants process;

·           a report be submitted to the full Charitable Trust with the recommended sums as agreed by the Regeneration Committee.
