Dr Haydn Edwards was elected Chair for this meeting only.

To receive any declaration of interest from a Member or Officer in respect of any item of business.

Councillor G O Jones had declared a prejudicial interest as regard to Item 5 and was not present at the meeting.  Dr H Edwards also declared a personal interest in Item 5.

To submit for confirmation, the draft minutes of the Panel which took place on 20^th September, 2017.

The minutes of the meeting held on 20 September, 2017 were confirmed.

To consider adoption of the following :-

“Under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, to exclude the press and public from the meeting during discussion on the following item on the grounds that it may involve the disclosure of exempt information as defined in Schedule 12A of the said Act and in the attached Public Interest Test.”

RESOLVED to adopt the following :-

To submit a report by the Head of Function (Council Business)/Monitoring Officer.

The Head of Function (Council Business)/Monitoring Officer explained the statutory selection process for the appointment to the vacant seat on the Standards Committee.

The Panel discussed in detail the applications received in accordance with the shortlisting process and criteria outlined within the report to the Panel.

It was RESOLVED that the shortlisted applicants be put forward to the interview process to be held on 27^th November, 2017 at 3.00 p.m.
